I am a Philosopher

Placeholder ImageMy husband told me if I died before him, (which is very unlikely!) he would say at the celebration of life, “Gwenda had a constant thirst for Knowledge.”  Philosophy is generally considered to be the search for truth, in the hope of attaining enlightenment. That does describe my life, for sure. The study of the fundamental nature of knowledge, reality, and existence is an ongoing quest.

Dr. John Izzo said, Knowledge is the accumulation of facts, whereas wisdom is the ability to discern what matters and what does not matter. John Izzo   I do thirst for wisdom. As Miles Kington said, “Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad. As a philosopher I then wonder, “Could ketchup be a smoothie.”

When philosophizing, thinking, analyzing all of the time, I find my brain gets full. Like a sponge needing wrung out this may become my gratitude journal. With hopes that it help others at the same time.

There are so many things in my head that I want to share. And keep track of for myself; Thus the reason for the blog.

I have a great friend who has not only encouraged me but helped me get this Blog up and running. Maybe I was full of too much advice and wisdom that I need to share other than just with her!

The humanities can be described as the study of how people process and document the human experience. Since humans have been able, we have used philosophy, literature, religion, art, music, history and language to understand and record our world.

I hope you will find on my blog some A-Ha moments, how to find freedom for yourself, happiness, meaning, purpose

Being a philosopher; and woman, how many women come to mind when you think of philosophers?

Not only do we view life with a little different light we have the need to talk about it, share it, go over and over and over it…. I may view some things different because of being female but also because of every other issue in my life. One major is that I am dyslexic. I did not realize how different I think until again my husband pointed out to me I think way outside the box.

I’ve always had something to say since childhood.  My mother said “I think you talk just to hear your head rattle.”

When writing my memoir (a work in progress that you will find on my tabs at the top) I realized my life has been Contemplating Christ.

I wrote one of my greatest pleasures in life as a child was simply “me and Jesus in the bush.” After many of life’s lessons and learning’s I come back to the most important being me and Jesus.

Psalm 1:2

But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. Psalm 107:43

Who is wise? Let him give heed to these things, And consider the loving kindnesses of the LORD.

1 Corinthians 2:13 This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words
